Founded
in 1995, the Cucuteni Culture International Research Centre (CCIRC), was set up in to
enhance and focus all efforts towards a thorough knowledge of this culture considered to
be an advanced society in European prehistory.
CCIRC initiates and carries out important
research programmes (systematic site research, interdisciplinary research).
CCIRC develops an exhaustive bibliographical
database on the Cucuteni Culture.
CCIRC organises international scientific
meetings.
CCIRC publishes and exhibits research on the
Cucuteni Culture.
CCIRC facilitates the exchange of specialised
information and publications.
CCIRC facilitates the exchange of expertise
among various countries.
CCIRC stimulates the dissemination of all
kinds of information concerning the Cucuteni Culture by mass media.

CCIRC core of researchers
together with Romanian and foreign collaborators carry out their specific activities. A
Romanian scientific board (Prof. dr. Attila Laszlo, dr. Victor Sorokin, dr. Dragomir
Popovici, dr. Dan Monah, dr. Gheorghe Dumitroaia) coordinates CCIRC together with a
consultative board made up of Romanian and foreign specialists, namely: Academician Prof.
dr. Mircea Petrescu-Dimbovita, Prof. dr. Silvia Marinescu-Bilcu, Prof. dr. Petre I. Roman,
Prof. dr. Iuliu Paul, Prof. dr. Linda Ellis, Prof. dr. Vladimir Kruc, Prof. dr. Rodolfo
Striccoli and Prof. dr. Gheorghe Lazarovici.
CCIRC is affiliated with the International
Consultative Commission of Indo-European and Thracian studies in Bucuresti and Mangalia.

H. SCHMIDT, FR. LASZLO, M. MARIN and C. MATASA's works concerning Cucuteni Culture will be reprinted in Restituiri (Restitutio) series.

CCIRC has coordinated research on archeological sites from Poduri, Lunca, Dobreni, and collaborates with research on other Eneolitic archeological sites. Moreover, CCIRC conducts archeological surveying in order to discover new Cucuteni sites.
